Every Sunday, while Natalia was at church strengthening her relationship with god and finding inner peace, Olivia kept herself busy strengthening her surprising friendship with Doris Wolfe and finding her own inner peace… at the shooting range.

This week was her turn to drive, which was why she found herself sitting impatiently in her car, idling in Doris Wolfe’s driveway on Sunday morning. If they didn’t leave soon, they wouldn’t be able to get two adjacent lanes, and there would be hell to pay if she got stuck fending off advances from Cletus and Billy Bob once again. With a shudder, she blared on the horn.

Inside her house, Doris was finally pulled from an exhausted slumber, jerking upright when she realized the noise was not her alarm, but an annoyed Olivia waiting outside. The mayor flew out of bed, grabbed a robe, and hurriedly crept out of her bedroom. She was beyond tired, and time simplest motor functions became quite the challenge. Finally tying shut the terrycloth robe, Doris looked up to see Olivia Spencer smirking at her in the open doorway.

Taking in the dark circles under the older woman’s eyes and the generally disheveled appearance, Olivia asked, “Bad night?”

“Uh, no, not really…” she trailed off. She was fidgeting, nervous even. All of which was highly unusual from the normally confident Doris Wolfe, and none of it escaped Olivia’s intelligent eyes.

“Oh my god!” Olivia shouted. Doris winced. “Is that a hickey?!” She immediately poked a finger at the blushing woman’s neck.

“Don’t be ridiculous.” Slapping away Olivia’s annoying hand, Doris walked over to her purse and grabbed her wallet. “I’ll give you one hundred dollars if you go get us some coffee.”

Before Olivia could offer a reply, both women heard a thump and what was probably a muffled curse come from Doris’s bedroom. The mayor’s eyes widened in panic.

“One hundred dollars right now!” She frantically waved the wad of cash in front of Olivia in an attempt at distraction, but she could see it was futile. The younger woman’s eyes were locked like lasers on the door, just waiting to see who would emerge.

When no one immediately appeared, Olivia’s gaze returned to Doris, her eyes dancing with merriment. “You slut.”

“I’m not a slut!” she shrieked and Olivia just laughed. “Two hundred dollars?”

“Who could be so embarrassing that you’d shell out two hundred bucks for me not to see?” Doris bit her lip. “You know you’ll end up telling me eventually.”

Just as she was about to make her final offer of three hundred, the door sound of someone fumbling with the door handle floated down to the two bickering women. Doris took advantage of Olivia’s distraction and shoved her out the door.

“Hey!” Olivia was more amused than outraged, but still.

“I’ll call you later,” Doris promised through the cracked door, and because even under these circumstances, she couldn’t resist, the mayor added, “Say hi to your boyfriend Cletus for me.”

“You son of a…” The door slammed closed, leaving Olivia alone on the porch. “Bitch,” she finished.

Doris leaned against the door, breathing a sigh of relief. A gentle chuckle grabbed her attention and she looked up to find Blake Marler standing at the top of her stairs, wearing nothing but a sheet and a smile. The sleepy woman stretched, enjoying the feeling of sore muscles she hadn’t flexed in quite some time. At least not in the company of another human being, that is. She never would have thought the uptight, conservative mayor of Springfield would be such an animal in bed.

“Whatcha doin’ all the way down there?”

Doris shrugged. “Uh, The Trib hasn’t come yet.”

Blake leaned forward, resting her forearms on the railing, smiling when the older woman’s eyes dropped down to her cleavage. “You know what else hasn’t come this morning?” There was a pause, and then Blake started back towards the bedroom. “Me.”

The mayor took the stairs two at a time.

Just as Olivia was about to drive away, she noticed an SUV parked across the street. It was familiar, but she just couldn’t place it. Olivia knew that eventually Doris would tell her all about her night of debauchery, but after the ‘boyfriend Cletus’ comment, Doris deserved all the teasing Olivia could throw her way. Grabbing a napkin and pen out of her glove box, she jotted down the license plate number. Maybe Remy would be working. He’d run the plate for her.

LOL! This was freaking PERFECT! Everything about it screamed, 'Guiding Light drama'. Seriously, I loved it! ♥

i'm slowly getting into Bliss. i think they're hilarious. the confidants - getting together.
nice job.

Thank you. I like the Blis (I actually prefer Bloris cause it sounds contagious and ergo, hilarious) because it's angst free.

Thank you, that's quite the compliment.

UM, AMAZING. Love Doris trying to bribe Olivia! And re: the license plate # - do you think the Springfield cops are even capable of such a task? LOL. But seriously, awesome fic :)

I doubt Springfield PD is capable of anything but eating donuts. Olivia would be running the plate herself.

Haha, excellent? Are you in the Blis comm? gl_blis. Blis is awesome as all get out.

Hooyah, Master Chief. Reporting for Blis here.

Re: clips and coffee for the win

Stalk away, my friend. Stalk away.

love it love it love it

:can ya tell that I loved it?:

awesome, more soon?

I can tell, and I appreciate the comments. More soon? Maybe.

I'm glad you liked it, thanks.

Gigglesnort! Very nice. Olivia/Doris banter makes me happy as does the Blis. Run that plate, Olivia!

This ship has so much potential, thank you for, um, coming aboard.

Oh a gigglesnort - I'm honored. And thank YOU.

LOL!! i can just see Olivia's eyebrow arching upward as she discovered who owns that car...

I have a feeling she might use the info for evil, not good.

“You know what else hasn’t come this morning?” --absolutely loved that line. LOL

Remy will be able to run that license plate..can the cops do anything in Springfield?

Great Blis fic!

That's a good point. The cops would probably be distracted by something shiny and Olivia could just do it herself. In fact, I like that idea...thanks!

Doris' panic and Olivia's teasing were perfect. The injection of Blis into this fandom has certainly brought back the fun.

Do we get a sequel? Surely, Olivia wouldn't stopped until she found out the truth *g*.

I think we're all in need of some fun lately. And a sequel, I hadn't planned on it, but I just might.

Thanks for commenting, btw.

Oh, Olivia is so going to make her pay... LOL
Lovely story - fun and lighthearted - just what I needed right now. :)

I was trying to do something sorta silly to lighten the mood. I'm glad you liked it.
